It is a great pleasure to welcome all fellow chemists and participants to the 123rd General Meeting of the Korean Chemical Society at the Suwan Convention Center.

Honorably, we invite Dr. Richard D. Smith who is a Chief Scientist and Battelle Fellow of the Biological Science Division as well as the Director of Proteomics Research at the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL). He will deliver the stimulating plenary lecture with the tile "High Resolution Ion Separations, Reaction, and Storage; Towards a Flexible Gas Phase Ion Chemistry Workbench based upon Structures for Lossless Ion Manipulations" and this will expand our chemistry wider and deeper solving current problems.

In addition, professor Phil Ho Lee of Kangwon National University will give an address lecture with KCS’s highest academic award with the title “Development of New Synthetic Methods in Organic Synthesis." There are also several interesting and stimulating academic activities that are presided not only in twelve chemistry divisions but also in many industries such as Dongwoo Fine Chem and Agilent Technology, etc. Many booths from companies including TCI, ThermoFisher and Shimazu will display their products and ready to communicate all participants throughout our meeting.

I wish all our KCS members and participants to enjoy the meeting at this newly built Suwan Convention Center.
