Home > WelcomeWelcome Message

I would like to welcome all fellow chemists and participants to
the 128th General Meeting of the Korean Chemical Society (KCS)
on October 13-15 at the BEXCO, Busan.

In particular, this fall meeting opens together with the 75th Anniversary of the Korean Chemical Society: Journey to Coexistence and Sustainability (Organizer: Prof. Dongwhan Lee, SNU). The KCS has made continuous efforts to promote ‘Chemistry’ to the diverse societies in Korea, especially through the General Meetings of the KCS.

At the 128th General Meeting of the KCS, Prof. Dongho Kim (Department of Chemistry, Yonsei University) will deliver the Plenary Lecture entitled “A Journey to Molecular Excitonic World”.
In addition, International Symposium for Emerging Investigators: Light-Matter Interaction and Electron Transfer: State of the Art and Remaining Challenges (Organizer: Prof. Mi Hee Lim, KAIST) is waiting for you.
Two SRC symposiums on Frontiers in Multiscale Chirality (Organizer: Prof. Hee-Seung Lee, KAIST) and on Measurements and Theory of Electronic and Nuclear Quantum Coherences (Organizer: Prof. Taiha Joo, POSTECH) are going to be held.
In these symposiums, brilliant chemists will present their research outcomes/directions and provide insight into how we can advance our chemical research.
Moreover, Prof. Myoung Soo Lah at UNIST will receive the 2021 Taikyue Ree Academic Award from the KCS and give a lecture. There are also several exciting and stimulating academic presentations in all divisions. The richness of these chemistry activities will be fruitful to all participants.

I wish all of the KCS members and participants to enjoy the 128th General Meeting of the KCS (the 75th Anniversary of the Korean Chemical Society) in Busan.

Ok-Sang Jung

President of the Korean Chemical Society
